I was asked to explain what I see in this piece of art, and so here’s a brief summary of my thoughts.
I see real love. Messy, beautiful, artistic, deep. I see mistakes, spills, mess ups that bring two together. I see a conversation over coffee leading to two minds making love. I see the birth of ideas, the birth of art, and every mistake leading to brilliance. I see a simple chat over a drink that gives energy turn into a master piece of energy and mind stimulation.
I see two figures in love, through thick and thin, coming together in a time of hardship, and evolving into beauty.
I see two cups of coffee spilling out, making a damn cool piece of art.
That’s some of what I see, I’m determined to find the piece and really talk about it over coffee though :)
One of the sickest pieces of art, I’ve ever seen. Let’s talk about it over coffee. ;) (Taken with instagram)
A MUST WATCH PERFORMANCE. One of the most beautiful, deep, inspiring, outstanding, spoken word pieces I’ve EVER heard. I hope I can write like this for my future daughter, God-Willing. (The poem is only the first few minutes, but you should watch the WHOLE VIDEO!!!)
Natalie Angier
(I know this is graphic, but this is so dope and deep. real talk.)

Quote by: Zora Neale Hurston.
Painting at: Eatonville, on U street. (named after Eatonville, FL the first real southern Black city…and “home” to Zora)
So much beauty and culture in this place, it’s no wonder the owner is the same as of Busboys & Poets. Zora Neale was such a beautiful inspiration. The manager just sat and told me her entire story, and I learned so much. Super amazing experience today. I love me some adventure!

DC’s End Modern (Sex) Slavery Walk, October 2011.
The only slavery is ignorance, so speak up and get informed.
“That Girl.”
One of the first spoken word pieces I ever fell in love with. This is one of the best pieces, I’ve ever heard. and I don’t care what you’ve gone through, anyone who’s ever been hurt by another can relate. In my opinion at least. Love love love. This will never get old.
I just got a job as a blogger for Labor of Love, a wedding/event planning company! They are absolutely fabulous, and you should def follow the blog!
